Welcome to Conway House

Conway House is a residential care home for adults with physical and learning disabilities in the West Midlands. Conway care for people with a range of disabilities and health problems, including Down's Syndrome, autism, multiple sclerosis, dementia and epilepsy.

Conway is a large, adapted bungalow with 8 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a modern kitchen, dining room, spacious lounge, picturesque garden and crafts room. All bedrooms are decorated to suit the service users tastes and include a television point and intercom.

Nursing Care cannot be provided at Conway House.  However if specialist care is required and care staff are able to under go appropriate training to meet these needs i.e. rescue medication, oropharyngeal suction, nebulizer therapy or wound dressing or invasive treatment of a non-urgent nature, this health care can be accessed through the person’s G.P. Practice.  Appropriate Community Nursing Services will then (if accessed by the G.P as necessary) come to Conway House and the Home will facilitate this care.

Day care can be provided and residents enjoy a range of activities, including arts and crafts, cookery, bingo, card games, football, cinema nights, aromatherapy and massage. We actively encourage residents to be part of the local community and regularly have trips out to local restaurants and pubs to socialise with neighbours and friends.

Staff at Conway are highly trained to support service users and qualified from NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care ranging up to registered nursing. Staff regularly attend training courses to ensure they are fully equipped to care for residents to the highest standard. Conway understands the importance of learning and development and welcomes placements from both colleges and universities.

Please be aware that Conway House operates with CCTV on the exterior of the building 24 hours per day. This is for the safety of the service users, staff and premesis. A copy of our CCTV, Data Potection and Privacy Policies are available upon reqest.
